Here at Sheila Fleet Jewellery, donations from our Daisies collections have been raising money for charity for almost six years. First supporting Emily Findlay and then the Orkney Charitable Trust. Now in 2020 we are giving our support to another worthy cause, and one dear to Sheila’s heart.

A contribution from every purchase of jewellery from Sheila’s Daisies at Dawn, Coloured Daisies and Diamond Daisies collections will be donated to Pancreatic Cancer Scotland (PCS), starting from 1 January 2020.

Sheila said, “Since launching in 2014, the Daisies collections have had a charitable element. I feel the time is now right to raise funds for the fight against pancreatic cancer in memory of my husband Rick, who sadly passed away from the disease in 2013.”

Pancreatic Cancer Scotland

PCS recently announced their intention to merge with Pancreatic Cancer Action and have a vision to make the 2020’s the decade of change for the disease. So do we! Donations from Sheila’s Daisies collections will now help the charity support families in Scotland affected by pancreatic cancer, as well as raising awareness, and improving education, healthcare and research of the disease.

As a patron of the charity, Sheila believes that the work PCS does is vital towards helping to increase early detection. She says, “Rick knew it had a very low survival rate and would want my son, Martin, and I to do something to help increase the survival rate or, even better, find a cure. He would be proud.”

The daisy’s importance to Sheila

Emily Findlay was working at Sheila Fleet Jewellery when she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Emily’s favourite flower is the daisy, which is where Sheila’s inspiration for the collection came from. The daisy also holds special importance to Sheila as she chose the flower for her bouquet on her wedding day to Rick, and daisies appeared on the lace of her wedding dress.

Since we launched these charitable collections, they have supported many local children and families. Now we want to add to the brilliant work already achieved and look forward to a successful year ahead, giving our support to Pancreatic Cancer Scotland.
