Meet Sheila at Loch Lomond

It’s Meet the Designer this week in Loch Lomond! This is your chance to meet Sheila, see all her very latest designs and ask her any questions you’ve had in your mind.

Meet Sheila at Loch Lomond 22-29 July 2017

Sheila will be showing her Dragonfly collection, lovely for summer, and her new Salmon pieces. Think of relaxing days beside Loch Lomond…  She’ll also be taking some exciting high value rings with her.

Making Dragonfly

Sheila has been working on Dragonfly for several months and the collection is now complete with various pendants, stud and drop earrings and gold pieces. Come to Meet the Designer if you’d like to see the new Dragonfly ring!

Sheila's Dragonfly sketchesEnamelling Dragonfly

Sheila created a new enamel colourway for Dragonfly. This colourway includes soft blues, turquoises and pinks for the little silver wings. The enamellers then have the challenge of getting the colours on all the wings symmetrical, not as easy as it looks! After each wing has been filled with tiny grains of glass the Dragonfly is fired. Then it’s back to the jeweller for polishing. All much more humane than it sounds!

High Value Rings

As well as Dragonfly and her brand new Salmon design, you will be able to view a range of Sheila’s exquisite rings. Sheila will be taking rings in unusual precious metals such as white gold, rose gold and platinum. Some of the rings feature precious stones and diamonds, all set by hand.

Trilogy is a beautiful ring, popular as an engagement ring, with three large diamonds. The image below shows Trilogy made in white gold. We also make it in rose gold, palladium, platinum and, of course, yellow gold.

Like the Trilogy ring we also make Venus in different metals including rose gold, white gold, palladium and platinum. Getting the correct size for you is important…

Ring sizing is a fine art and we like to take the time to ensure a comfortable fit for you.  Sheila may want to know if your hand feels warm or cold while sizing as this can affect the fit. We make rings in almost all possible sizes so whatever your requirements we’re normally able to help.

Meet Sheila, Janice and the Lomond team

Karen and our manager, Janice, on right, have been busy getting the Lomond shop looking lovely. It’s a rather special year as we celebrate 15 years of Sheila Fleet in Loch Lomond! Janice can hardly believe it’s been so long, she remembers the opening day in 2002…

It’s also a special year for Sheila, she’s celebrating 50 years in the jewellery industry! Where does the time go… To make it even more special Sheila has been chosen as one of only two jewellers to receive Scottish Gold.  Just up the road from Janice and her team, Scotland’s first gold mine is extracting gold from the hills around Tyndrum. Do ask about ordering a ring made in Scottish Gold when you meet Sheila…
