"Daisies for Emily" raises over £4,000!

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has helped raise over £4000!

In total £4051.92 has been raised by all those who bought a silver daisy for Emily.

This is a wonderful response and all monies will be transferred to the Orkney Charitable Trust (SCO44924) supporting Emily and her family.

It’s tremendous” said Sheila “We only launched “Daisies for Emily” at the end of May and this is what has been raised up to the end of June. We’d like to thank everyone who has visited our website, shops or stockists recently and purchased a Daisy for Emily.

Emily’s mother, Michelle Findlay, has also asked us to pass their thanks on to everyone:

We would like to add our thanks to that of Sheila for the wonderful support from folk in Orkney and further afield in supporting the Daisies for Emily collection and raising money for The Orkney Charitable Trust. We have been overwhelmed by folks’ kindness and generosity and we are amazed by the total raised in just 4 weeks! We love wearing our daises and everyone admires them!

We’d also like to thank everyone who has helped bring Emily’s story to others whether through a national, regional or local newspaper, magazine, online presence, blog, facebook post or tweet.  The support of so many people and organisations has really helped and been great.

Sheila’s new collection “Daisies for Emily” was launched in early summer to raise money to help Emily. 18-year old Emily is fighting neuroblastoma, a rare cancer which attacks young people and children. Every daisy sold contributes to the Orkney Charitable Trust supporting Emily and her family.

We’ll post updates every quarter, the next one will be the funds raised from July to the end of September. Look out for an update in October.

Brighten Emily’s Day… your story and your picture for Emily…

Emily is currently undergoing treatment in Aberdeen. It’s not very pleasant. If you have a picture of yourself wearing your “Daisies for Emily” piece post it to our Facebook page with your story and brighten Emily’s day a little.

Hi Emily! I’m in Loch Lomond for Meet the Designer and I’ve met some lovely people! I’m wearing the big Daisy necklet. At 68 wondered if I was too old to wear a Daisy but they make me feel younger! They radiate a kind of happiness and youthfulness and it makes you feel good – I’m wearing them every day now!
